Two weeks but feels so much longer...

I can't believe I haven't blogged in two weeks...I have had lots of things I could have blogged about but honestly just haven't felt much like it.  I have been a tired Mama and not just because I have a newborn at home but because we have been in a home where sickness has moved into.

The last few weeks have seen the girls battling colds and some major congestion problems.  Our GP is pretty amazing with being up to date on what is and isn't good with regard to prescribing to kids.  He made the decision to give the girls a dose of Steroids to try to combat the congestion.  It worked wonders for both but we were still left to deal with the colds and in newborn that can be brutal.

They rebounded after almost a week but Laila now seems to have the flu bug back again so we are back to having a puke fest.  I'm just so tired of it all and honestly just hope that the coming months of 2010 are better health wise.

Sophie is 9 weeks old today and is now weighing in at a healthy 10lbs 6oz.  She is still just a very happy  baby who is very strong and I suspect will be doing every milestone ahead of her brother and sister.    We have her sleeping 6 to 7 hours at night which has been a blessing for her Mama who has been tending to Laila at night while she is sick.

Vancouver, British Columbia hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics and I have to say I have never been so proud to be a Canadian.  From the opening ceremonies to the close on Sunday night it was a great two weeks.  Canadian athletes did us so proud and while we didn't win the most medals they did win more then any other games they have been part of as well the most amount of gold medals ever.

Here is the beautiful song that was used for the games...enjoy !!

I'm having a bit of withdrawal from not being able to watch the games on TV but on positive note regular programming has now returned.   I can't wait to watch The Biggest Loser tonight and American Idol.  I already have my favorite for this year on AI and I really hope that he goes far in the competition because I think he is very talented.

Here he is...Do you agree ?

I have been cooking lots lately to some success and of course a few failures.  When I have a spare  minute I will post some of the recipes as they are too good not to share.

I will end with a few pictures of the kids...Chow for now !!

(This is Laila's version of a pictures together with her sister)

It is great to see you back posting on your blog. We miss you at Fellowship. The children are adorable. Congrats to Canada on winning the gold in hockey. What an exciting game that was.

I absolutely love the one of Laila and Sophie! Keeping her at an arm's length :)

I thought of you today, Grayson was wandering around town carrying a Go Canada Olympic Team banner. It was so cute - but kind of funny to see the looks people were giving him.
