I hope everyone has the opportunity to spend the day with their loved ones !!
Happy Valentines Day
Febrile Seizures
So my lovely little Laila has not been feeling herself for the last week or so and we figured it was those nasty molars coming through. I have been watching her really closely for temperature spikes because we didn't want history to repeat itself. When she is running a fever she is very prone to having Febrile seizures. We have ended up at the Children's hospital 3 times when this has happened but if we can catch the fever soon enough with medication she is usually fine.
Well last night I bathed her and then she went with her daddy to get a movie. During the car ride over Faruq noticed her basically unresponsive in her car seat. She had a seizure but was thankfully coming out of it by the time in pulled over. It was so scary for him as it has been me that has experienced almost all of them or at the very least the two of us (and usually at home). Once out of it she threw up and seemed to be fine. I checked her temperature and it had returned to normal by the time they arrived home.
This is the 5th episode of seizures and honestly I can't wait to the day that she outgrows these which they say is around the age of 5. Everyone is scary and you just hold you breath for those few seconds while saying a pray that she will come out of it.
Thankfully Hayden has never experienced one and we will watch Sophie very closely as she gets older.
Anyone else experience these with their little ones?
We got them this time...
Two weeks ago I posted about my boyfriend Michael Buble coming to town in August well low and behold both Faruq and I forgot to call the day the tickets went on sale so needless to say we didn't get any.
Fast forward a week and they announced they were adding a 2nd show. I wasn't about to miss out on this one so yesterday I called at 10 am sharp and was able to snag two floor seats in row 20.
I'm so excited & I can't wait to see him in concert again !!
A Little taste of heaven....
in a pyrex dish !!
I love, love, love this recipe that I snatched from Bakerella's blog a few weeks back. I have already made it twice and plan on making it again when we have company next weekend
Peach Crunch Cake
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick butter (1/2 cup), cut into 16 pieces
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Layer ingredients in a 13 X 9 dish, in order starting with the peaches.
Bake for about 40 minutes.
Serve warm or cold… with or without ice cream.
Lovely Laila
So I think Mama might have missed something with her Lovely little Laila a few weeks back. I'm not totally sure her outbursts where caused so much by the "terrible two's" as it was possibly my little girl getting her 2 year molars. I started to put a few things together and realized it was probably the later.
She was having weird poops, red cheeks, sucking on her fingers and biting anything she could get her little chompers on. I wonder if that was enough hints...I guess not for me. Once we started to give her some pain meds the tantrums have all but stopped. I still think the limited vocabulary does cause her frustrations but not to the level we seen a few weeks back.
I really hope that's what was bugging her but know it could just be being "2" !
Yummy Tuna Casserole
I found this recipe on the Kraft Canada website and it is not only super easy it is very yummy !! Both kids love it and my picky hubby enjoyed it as well.

- Prepare Mac and Cheese as per directions.
- Add Tuna, Soup, Peas and Miracle Whip to the Mac and Cheese.
- Turn into baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
He is coming back ......
Just a little excited here. My boyfriend Michael Buble is making his way back to Calgary in August and this is one Mama that plans on being there. I have seen him a few times and have never been disappointed with his live shows.
When I was pregnant with Laila I used to play his music a lot and over time whenever one of his songs came on she would kick like like there was no tomorrow. So we started to joke and say "Who's your daddy".
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am and I plan on getting me a few good seats (that's if I remember to call - Friday is a really long time from now).
